Frac Sand Processing Facility, Wisconsin

Project Type: Frac Sand Processing Facility
Location: Wisconsin
Capacities: Raw Sand, 500 TPH; Reject Material, 250 TPH; Processed Sand, 125 TPH

A frac sand supplier added a new wash plant and storage area at its mine. Rapat was selected to supply material handling equipment, which included a large hopper with belt feeder to receive payloader buckets of raw sand. Belt conveyors then feed the wash plant and move product through the process, while reject material is discharged onto a ground pile with the use of a radial stacker conveyor. The clean sand is moved to a 500,000-ton flat storage area, for which Rapat supplied a number of trussed belt conveyors with dual walkways to feed two 250-foot automated shuttling belt conveyors. These travel atop 1,050 feet of truss at an elevation of nearly 100 feet to distribute product to the ground pile below.
