Limestone, Lime, Coal @ 350 TPH
This was called the Kiln 5 Expansion Project which included the installation of an additional two hundred thousand tons of annual capacity and a new kiln # 5, a state-of-the-art high efficiency preheater lime kiln.
Rapat’s equipment scope included the supply of 13 belt conveyors including support structures, transfer towers, and a chain bucket elevator. The limestone material handling equipment provided transfer of product from the storage piles, to and from the new screening building, to and from the new kiln, and finally into storage silos for rail & truck loadout. The coal material handling equipment tied in to existing belt conveyors to service the new firing building with coal.
Rapat worked closely with the engineering firm of Krech & Ojard as well as the general contractor, Lakehead Constructors, on this fast track design build project. The project was completed on budget and three weeks ahead of schedule, enabling the owner to begin manufacture and sale of product sooner than expected.
