Malt Processing Facility, Canada

Project Type: Malt Processing Facility
Location: Canada
Capacities: 120 TPH

A client needed to transfer green malt to a kiln using a drag chain conveyor, but had limited amount of space at the discharge location. Rapat was asked to provide a conveyor custom fit for their needs. Once the box size was determined, the proper chain and flight combination had to be selected to meet long-term capacity, strength and safety factors to hold up to the application. Because of the conveyor’s length and the need to be continually washed down, a forge-steel chain with stainless steel pins was selected, as well as a stainless steel fabricated enclosure. Guarded access doors were also placed in every 10-foot section to provide additional access for the wash-down process.
